About Backroads Reclamation

Reclaiming Canada's Past to Build an Enduring Future

We are building Canada's first industrial-scale wood recovery and processing company, transforming demolition-phase buildings into a circular resource stream that honours our heritage while forging a sustainable path forward.

Our Mission

To reclaim and transform Canada's historic timber legacy into enduring materials—honouring our heritage, respecting our environment, and forging meaningful connections between past, present, and future generations.

Every Board Has More Life to Live

The timber in Canada's older buildings carries stories—of the forests it came from, the skilled craftspeople who shaped it, and the decades it has stood strong. Much of this material is old-growth lumber with superior strength, density, and durability unmatched by modern alternatives. It has proven its resilience for over a century and is prepared to serve for a century more.

We make sure it does.

Through standardised disassembly, precision processing, and digital traceability, we transform construction and demolition waste into specification-ready materials that meet the demanding standards of today's builders, manufacturers, and institutional buyers.

Our Impact

We divert historic timber from landfills while significantly reducing demand for newly harvested wood. At full scale, we process over 15,000 tonnes annually, producing materials that reduce embodied carbon by up to 85% compared to virgin alternatives.
